On March 27th, Elsevier released the 2023 list of "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers". A total of 5,801 individuals made the list this year, hailing from 496 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, and spanning across 10 academic fields and 84 primary disciplines as defined by the Ministry of Education. Traditional Chinese medicine universities saw 56 scholars selected across 7 disciplines, including Chinese medicine, traditional Chinese pharmacology, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, pharmacy, basic medicine, biology, and clinical medicine, marking an increase of 11 scholars from the 2022 list.
